Tehran (ISNA) - Managing Director of Chabahar Free Zone, Abdulrahim Kurdi stressed that changes in the economic arrangement of the region and industrial activities in Chabahra have opened a new chapter in regional and international role.
Addressing India-Iran Business Forum, Abdulrahim Kurdi said, “As a new regional player in the Middle East, Chabahar plays special role in the economic diplomacy of the region”.
“Chabahar Agreement between Iran, Afghanistan and India is a turning point in expanding relations between these three countries that will have particular effects on the relations of the regional countries,” he added.
Managing Director of Chabahar Free Zone also stated, “The presence of Indian port operators in the port of Shahid Beheshti has increased the importance of Chabahar”.
“Changes in the economic arrangement of the region and industrial and logistic activities in Chabahra as the completion of basic infrastructure by President Rouhani's government have opened a new chapter in Chabahar’s regional and international role,” he continued.
“We have witnessed a great increase in the investment demands in Chabahar over the two years. Currently two petrochemical projects and a steel factory are under construction,”Abdulrahim Kurdi said.
